Emulsifite surfactant additives in the wet chain lube allow for particles to wrap around oil droplets and drag them off the chain when applied with high pressure water. Due to the low concentration of emulsifites, it takes a heavy, continuous flow of water from a hose to cause the emulsifites to activate.

This allows for the rider to pedal through rain and puddles and even streams of water without losing all of the oil, but to effectively clean it off with high pressure water from a hose and scrubbing from a brush. The emulsifites drag off grime build up from riding in wet conditions, allowing a rider with a consistent cleaning routine to keep the drivetrain spotless and clean more easily.
